Terrorists Have Hard Currencies – Chief Of Defence Staff Suspects Foreign Sponsorship

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has said that the possibility of terrorists getting sponsorship from other countries cannot be ruled out.

In an interview with Channels TV, the CDS substantiated his claim by revealing that some of the terrorists arrested in the Northeast were caught with foreign currencies.

He suspected that some countries envious of Nigeria may have been funding terrorism in the country, insisting that not every foreigner is happy with the nation.

He said, “When we arrested some of them in the Northeast, they were having hard currencies to change. How did they get those monies?

“People don’t understand that a lot of countries are envious of Nigeria. I remember that some people said we were not going to survive more than 2015 but this is 2025 and we are still surviving.

“People have to understand that not everyone is happy with you, that you are developing”.

He, however, noted that sometimes, the bloodthirsty criminals “get funding from kidnapping, armed robbery and all these things they do but you can’t rule out the possibility of external funding”.
