Senator Sani Gives Reasons For Poor Quality of Education in Northern Nigeria

Senator Sani said that insecurity, terrorism, and banditry, including poor infrastructure, pose serious challenges.

 

A former Senator, Shehu Sani has revealed why the quality of education is poor in the north.

 

The former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, listed itemized affecting education in the region.

 

In a verified Facebook post on Monday, Senator Sani said that insecurity, terrorism, and banditry, including poor infrastructure, pose serious challenges.

 

According to him, “Cultural and religious barriers, low funding, poverty, teacher shortages, child labour, discrimination against girls, low access to technology, health challenges, and the increasing number of people living with disabilities, as well as the systemic retention of the street Almajiri system, neglect, misplacement, and mismanagement of resources by successive governments.”

 

He added that these issues require urgent attention.
