1. Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai and his aides blew N423 billion in eight years, the State House of Assembly alleged on Wednesday. It urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe the former governor and his appointees for unauthorised cash withdrawals in dollar and naira.

2. The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, has announced plans to pay 2.3 million depositors of Heritage Bank approximately N650 billion starting this week. This move follows the recent withdrawal of Heritage Bank’s operating licence.

3. The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, yesterday, granted the Federal Government an order of interim forfeiture of property valued at N11,140,000,000.00 linked to the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke gave the order following a motion filed by the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo.

4. The appointment of Nyesom Wike as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was one of the best I made since my administration took off, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said on Wednesday. He commended the minister for striving to redefine leadership, saying that he cannot be ignored.

9. The Senate, on Wednesday, passed a bill seeking an upward review of salaries, allowances and other fringe benefits of judicial officers in the country. This followed the adoption of the report of the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters presented by the Chairman of the committee, Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC, Borno North).

10. The Federal Government’s ban on the export of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, popularly called cooking gas, has led to a crash in the cost of the commodity from about N1,500 per kilogram to around N900/kg, LPG dealers stated on Wednesday.
