A 29-year-old man has been arrested for beating his aunt to death with a broom during an argument inside her home on Tuesday, August 20.
Alexander Fleming and his aunt, Juanita Dallas were arguing inside the Jamaica home on 164th Street near 108th Street around 10:30 p.m. when Fleming suddenly hit his aunt in the head with the broom, cops said.
Dallas was rushed to North Shore University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.
Fleming was arrested later in the evening and charged with murder: depraved indifference, assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
He has 10 prior arrests, according to law enforcement sources, though details on those were not immediately known.
