Man Sh0t De@d While Trying To Prove To His Friend That He Could ‘Dodge A Bullet’

Mann was arrested shortly after 4am on Sunday, Feb. 2, and charged with a count of second-degree felony m@nslaughter and a firearms-related third-degree count.

A man has been killed by his friend after he allegedly claimed he could “dodge a bullet” while he was high.

The friend, identified as Ashton Jonathan Mann, 23, was smoking marijuana with the deceased in the kitchen and talking about guns, then they continued the conversation in a garage, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Mann and his friend were handling two guns when the latter “said he could dodge a bullet”, stated the affidavit obtained by ABC4.

They unloaded both weapons and Mann said he pointed a gun and fired it as his friend tried to “jump out of the way to prove he could move before the trigger was pulled”.

Mann said they did it around six times and “the final time the gun fired striking (his friend) in the chest”, according to the documents.

The suspect said he immediately called 911 and tended to his friend until first responders got to the home in Kearns in Salt Lake County, Utah.

Authorities found the friend unresponsive and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced de@d.

Officials with Unified Police obtained a search warrant for the home and discovered two handguns, magazines, ammunition and “drug paraphernalia consistent with marijuana use”, the documents stated.
