A man has been arrested for the attempted r@pe of his 1-year-old relative in Durban – KZN, South Africa.
The incident happened at about 06:38am on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to the home by the child’s mother reporting that she had found her relative n@ked in her bedroom on top of her baby.
Upon arriving at the scene, Reaction Officers found several women, including the child’s mother and grandmother, assaulting the suspect.
When interviewed, the mother explained that while getting her daughter ready for school, she had entered the room to find the man with his clothing off, attempting to r@pe her son.
The relative had stayed over after attending the child’s birthday party the previous night and requested to use the en-suite bathroom before the incident.
According to the mother, the man was n@ked from the waist down and had his shirt pulled up to his chest.
Reaction Officers restrained the man when he tried intimidating the family in their presence. He was then covered with a towel. The man had sustained open wounds to his mouth and face after he was assaulted by several other women on the scene.
A man who identified himself as the child’s father informed Reaction Officers that he is a policeman and intended on sorting the problem internally with his family.
Officers declined and called out the local South African Police Services (SAPS) to register a criminal case.
