Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has revealed what Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate in 2023 told him.
He spoke while lamenting about the All Progressives Congress.
El-Rufai said Obi had informed him that like the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, mercenaries were hired to cause crisis in LP.
He disclosed this in Abuja at an event tagged National Conference for strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
“There are internal mercenaries in the PDP, hired and motivated to destroy the party. The Labour Party is also facing similar issues. Peter Obi himself told me, ‘I don’t know what’s happening in the party I contested with’,” he said.
El-Rufai also said he no longer recognizes the All Progressives Congress, APC, because no organ of the party had met in the last two years.
The former governor stressed that APC has deviated from its founding mission.
He insisted that the ruling party was created to solve a problem but that would not be possible again.
