A 22- year-old man has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for r*ping a 15 years old girl in the state.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurore, Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa Command, in a statement said the suspect, Luka James, of Gwalantabal village in Song Local Government Area, was arrested in Michicka following a report made to the police by Yohanna Begie, a resident of Nkafa village.
“On 31st January, 2025, the victim was on her way to school when the suspect conspired with one Emmanuel, who is currently on the run, labducted her into a nearby bush and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her,” the statement said.
The girl was found unconscious at the scene of the incident and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Damkombo Morris, expressed concern over the incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation to take over the investigation and ensure justice.
The CP advised members of the public, especially parents, to develop a habit of monitoring of their wards and provide timely information to the police.
