The Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, presided over by Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna, has granted bail to former Dunamis Church Pastor, Abraham Daniel, and Peter Enenche, the brother of Dunamis Church Senior Pastor, Paul Enenche.
The bail, set at N2 million, includes stringent conditions, such as providing two sureties of the same amount, who must also deposit the original copies of their passports with the court.
The court granted bail following the application argued on behalf of the defendants by their lawyer, S. M. Oyeghe, Esq.
The bail application pertained to charges of cyberbullying, criminal defamation, and other accusations filed by the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Church, Pastor Paul Enenche.
The prosecution counsel, Francis Gabriel, mentioned that the duo were granted bail following the intervention of O’chidoma, His Royal Highness Odogbo John Abagaji.
According to SaharaReporters, it was learned from the Take It Back Movement (TIB) that the bail conditions include a N2 million bail bond and the provision of two sureties of the same amount.
One surety must be a civil servant of grade level 15 or above, while the second surety must be a reputable Nigerian. All sureties must depose to an affidavit of means and indicate their willingness to produce the defendants.
Sureties must reside within Abuja, preferably within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), and must deposit original copies of their passports.
The court also ordered that the defendants must depose an affidavit of good conduct and ensure they do not jeopardize the investigation.
The matter was consequently adjourned to March 26, 2025, for trial. SaharaReporters had reported that Pastor Paul Enenche’s two siblings, Mr. Enenche Enenche and Alexander Enenche, along with Pastor Abraham Daniel, were remanded at Keffi Prison in Nasarawa State.
They were reportedly taken to the Keffi Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) following a remand order secured by the Nigerian Police Force from the Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja.
On Friday, January 31, SaharaReporters reported that Pastor Paul Enenche had bowed to pressure by dropping his cyberbullying and criminal defamation case against his younger brother, Alexander Enenche, and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri.
The case was discontinued after widespread criticism, with Pastor Enenche’s legal team applying to withdraw the charges against Omokri and Alexander Enenche.
The court granted the application without objection from the defence counsel, S. M. Oyeghe, Esq.
However, the case took a new turn when Pastor Enenche filed a First Information Report (FIR) on January 30, 2025.
SaharaReporters learnt that Pastor Paul Enenche had vowed to continue his prosecution of a former pastor of the church Abraham Daniel and Peter Enenche, who pleaded not guilty to the FIR.
Alexander Enenche, Peter Enenche and Pastor Abraham Daniel were earlier arrested and detained over allegations of cyberbullying and criminal defamation against Pastor Paul Enenche.
Pastor Daniel and Peter Enenche are being charged with criminal conspiracy, cyber stalking and defamation of character.
