Bashir Ahmad Gives Conditions For Negotiations With Surrendered Bandits

Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari has kicked against having surrendered bandits set free.

He gave the Nigerian government conditions before repentant bandits can be released into the society.

In a post on X, Ahmad wrote: “If we must negotiate with bandits after all the pain, suffering, and destruction they have inflicted on innocent people, then the authorities must have a clear and firm strategy.

“All surrendered bandits should not just walk free, they should be drafted to fight against those still terrorizing our communities.

“With strict conditions, they will be held fully accountable if anything goes wrong again and their surrender will be void.

“No second chances. If they are truly remorseful, let them prove it by helping to end the terror they once contributed to.”

Lately, the Nigerian military has continued its onslaught against bandits in the Northern part of the country.

The onslaught had led to the capture and elimination of several notorious bandit leaders.

Meanwhile, dreaded bandit leader, Bello Turji is currently on the run from his hideout in Zamfara State following the military onslaught.
