Igbo Enemies Taking Advantage of My Detention to Attack Southeast – Nnamdi Kanu Laments

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has spoken about the violence taking place in the Southeast.

According to him, enemies of Igbo have taken advantage of his detention to attack villagers in the Southeast.

Kanu said nobody or entity would have attacked any Igbo community in the Southeast if he was free.

He disclosed this after his routine meeting with his legal team headed by Lead Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor.

In a statement he issued on X, Ejimakor said Kanu was reacting to lamentation by residents of Amegu Nkalaha Community accusing the Nigerian military and the police of complicity in the herdsmen attack.

The residents claimed that they were warned not to leave the community on Saturday, only for the attackers to strike the next day without any intervention from security forces.

They also noted that the soldiers, after the attack, returned and seized their phones, prevented them from documenting the carnage and alerting the world.

Reports said the incident led to the gruesome murder of 16 residents while 25 houses were razed completely.

However, the statement by Ejimakor reads: “UPDATE: During our visitation with Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yesterday, he lamented that enemies of the Igbo race have taken advantage of his illegal detention to unleash coordinated attacks on defenseless villagers.

“Because had he been a free man, no entity would have dared carry out such an audacious attack against peaceful farming communities in Igbo land. Gbuo dike, gbuo dike, ihe ike ruo achowa dike is an Igbo adage and it’s apt at this time.”
