Suspected Kidnapper Arrested In Kogi

Spokesperson of the service, S.O. Saka, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 2, 2025 said the suspect was among kidnappers that have been terrorizing communities in the LGA.

A suspected kidnapper, Abdullahi Abubakar, has been arrested by the Kogi State Vigilante Service in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of the state.

 

Spokesperson of the service, S.O. Saka, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 2, 2025 said the suspect was among kidnappers that have been terrorizing communities in the LGA.

 

On January 31, 2025, at approximately 1800hrs, operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Igalamela Command, apprehended a suspected kidnapper, one Abdullahi Abubakar, in Ikefi community of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area,” the statement read.

 

“The suspect was found in possession of a wooden toy gun.

 

“It has been confirmed that kidnappers have been terrorizing the community, forcing farmers off their farm land in an attempt to carry out abductions.

 

“The swift response of the vigilante operatives led to the arrest of the suspect.

 

“The suspect, along with the recovered exhibit, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idah Area Command, for further investigation and necessary legal action.

 

“The Kogi State Vigilante Service remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all communities within the state. We urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.”
