Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, a former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, has warned political parties and individuals about working with ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The statement came after former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, lambasted El-Rufai over his recent political remarks attacking President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Sani claimed that the ex-governor practiced tyranny while in power, expressing surprise that El-Rufai now preaches democracy after leaving office.
El-Rufai had earlier accused his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, of abandoning its founding principles and promoting poor leadership.
“You cannot afford to have illiterates, semi-illiterates, and cunning people as your leaders. This is why we end up with the poor leadership we have today,” El-Rufai stated.
El-Rufai doubled down on his attacks on the APC and Tinubu’s government, insisting that the party and the nation are facing an existential crisis of monumental proportions.
However, Odinkalu in a post on Thursday suggested that any political party or person who seeks to work with El-Rufai towards a national platform is doomed.
“I keep saying it: Any party or person that seeks to work with him towards a national platform is & will be doomed,” Odinkalu posted on X.
