Armed Robber Arrested During Attempt To Rob A Woman With A Locally Made Pistol In Ogun

A suspected armed robber, Tunde Adebanjo, has been nabbed during an attempt to steal from a woman in Ogun State.

Residents of the Iyana-Iyasi community in the Ota area of the state caught the armed robber in the act and recovered a locally made pistol and a Tecno phone from him.

They handed him over to the authorities.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this, saying, “At about 6:30 am, one Tunde Adebanjo was apprehended by members of the community while he was robbing one Mrs Babalola Rachel.”

“Upon arrest, the suspect was found with a locally made cut-to-size pistol and a Tecno phone. Investigations confirmed that the recovered Tecno phone belonged to the victim,” she added.

Odutola revealed that the suspect confessed to being a robber during questioning.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further action.
