Vigilante operatives have apprehended a fake lawyer, Olubuwe Ossai Silas, for impersonating Barr. Simon Saboke of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Udu Branch, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, January 21.

The suspect, who wore a red T-shirt and black trousers, is currently cooling his heels at the Ovwian/Aladja Police Station, Daily Post reports.

NBA Chairman in Udu, Edmund Odohisi, in a statement, said the suspect was caught red-handed allegedly transplanting a lawyer’s seal on a document and preparing legal documents using the lawyer’s name.

According to Odohisi, “I have filed a formal complaint at the Ovwian Police Station, where the suspect is currently cooling off. The Divisional Police Officer has promised me that no stone will be left unturned in using this case as a deterrent to others involved in this very barbaric act.

“Lawyers all over the world have zero tolerance for quacks and infiltrators into the legal profession.”

It was learned that as the suspect was arrested, the real lawyer bearing the name, Barr Simon Saboke, showed up at the scene and was just laughing.
