Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, has disclosed that he successfully underwent eye surgery at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
Sharing updates in a series of posts on X, the commissioner expressed his gratitude to the medical team and highlighted the quality of care he received at the facility.
“Huge thanks to the incredible oculoplastic surgeons in the Eye Department, especially Prof. Mrs. Bola Adekoya and Dr. Rosemay Ngwu, for their expertise and for making the procedure painless,” Abayomi wrote.
The commissioner also praised the nursing team, describing their care as exceptional.
“A special shoutout to the amazing nursing care led by Apex Nurse Adejoke Okeowo—you truly made a difference!” he added.

Abayomi extended his appreciation to Prof. Adebowale O. Adekoya, the Director of Clinical Services and Training at LASUTH, for leading what he called an excellent team.
He also commended Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo, LASUTH’s Chief Medical Director, for his leadership in driving healthcare excellence.
