Lawmakers Demand Immediate Investigation Into Recent Kaduna Attack, Urge Police Action.
Senator Sunday Katung, representing Kaduna South, has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into a vicious assault that claimed the lives of six individuals in Ambe community, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Naija News reported this call during a visit on Thursday with Mr. Daniel Amos, the Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, to extend condolences and solidarity to the affected community.
The attack, which occurred earlier this week, also resulted in nine others sustaining injuries. Micah Aude, the youth leader of the community, confirmed the incident, describing it as a sudden eruption of violence that shattered the peace previously enjoyed by the residents.
During his address to the community, Senator Katung commended the bravery of the locals for apprehending one of the suspected attackers. He urged security operatives to spare no effort in uncovering those behind this unwarranted attack and ensuring they face justice. Senator Katung also issued a stern warning to any community members involved in collusion with attackers, emphasizing that justice will prevail.
Mr. Amos offered prayers for the deceased and announced that he, along with Senator Katung, would cover the medical expenses of the injured to facilitate their recovery. He further pledged to advocate for the re-establishment of a military camp in the area to enhance security and restore confidence among local farmers, encouraging them to return to their fields for a productive agricultural season.
In response to the tragedy, the House of Representatives has called on Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police, the Department of State Services, and other relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the killings and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
