Usman Austin Okai, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State, has opined that it is demeaning and disrespectful for a man to kneel to propose to a woman.
He then stated that a lady should not be happy when a man kneels to propose to her because it is disrespectful.
“Never raise a son to go on a knee for any woman to propose marriage,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
“And you as a lady, you are happy that a man is kneeling down before you. Which culture or religion? It’s unnatural, it’s demeaning and disrespectful.”
